Strand is a huge industrial centre on the edge of Cape Town. It has a lovely long beach, but that's not usually sufficient reason to persuade tourists to stop here - there are far better beaches in more pleasant areas elsewhere in Cape Town or further down the coast in Hermanus on the Whale Coast.
