Many of the Garden Route's attractions and activities come courtesy of the beautiful scenery. The area's lagoons, rivers and forests lend themselves to exploration by canoe, bike or by foot.
Of course it's perfectly acceptable, when doing the Garden Route, to get into total relaxation mode and limit your activities to a stroll through an interesting town, a gentle debate as to where to take lunch and a lazy afternoon spent gazing at the views.
However, if you're the type that needs to be kept busy, or if you have children to be entertained, the Garden Route pulls out all the stops on the action front.
There are adrenalin rushes, educational trips and simply fun things to do - like checking out the primates at Monkeyland, going whizzing through the treetops, catching a steam train or flinging yourself off a 216m high bridge (attached to a bungee cord, that is).
