Dolphin & Whale Watching on the Garden Route

Dolphins, whales (in season) and other marine creatures love the warm Indian Ocean waters of the Garden Route and while you might get lucky and spot them from the shore, it's best to hop on a boat and experience them from close-up in their natural environment.

Boat trips depart from Plettenberg Bay where a few licensed operators are allowed to approach to within 50m of the whales (the usual distance is 300m). Or you can get as close as you dare on a kayak!
