Garden Route » General Information » Weather & Climate

The Garden Route has warm, sunny summers and mild winters. In summer, the daytime temperatures hang around the mid 20s and rarely fall below 16 degrees Celsius in winter.

The Garden Route has a great deal to offer visitors all year-round, although rainfall also occurs throughout the year keeping the area lush and green.

If you do get caught by a rainy day on the Garden Route, there's still much to do. Explore the many roadside arts & craft shops; take in the views from a boat on the Knysna lagoon (the Paddle Cruiser does a particularly good lunch) or make use of the raincoats provided and go on the Canopy Tour anyway - a completely unique forest experience.
