When to Go to the Garden Route

Because of the Garden Route's temperate climate there should be no worries about when to visit the Garden Route. The Garden Route is lovely and mild all year round, perfect for exploring the outdoors.

With its many beautiful white beaches the sun-worshipper will find the best time to visit the Garden Route is during the summer months between November and April.

Christmas through New Year is peak season in these parts so be prepared for the masses, while the Knysna Oyster Festival in July is a fun and busy time to visit the Garden Route.

June to November is whale season and therefore the best time to see these magnificent creatures along the coast.
