God's Window is a popular viewpoint located on the lip of the escarpment along the Blyde River Canyon, in South Africa. The Canyon is the third largest in the world and drops 800 meters down to the Lowveld plains.
Within a short drive of Gods Window are the Kruger National Parks and a few private reserves, all of which have the big 5. These game reserves make the area one of Africa's prime wildlife destinations.
The 1980 cult film 'The Gods Must Be Crazy' used God's Window as a location. The film followed a Kalahari bushman named Xi as he tried to walk to the end of the earth in order to return an unwanted gift to the gods (in this case a discarded coke bottle). Arriving at God's Window, the view was so overwhelming that Xi believed he had finally reached the edge of the world.
God's Window forms part of the Panorama Route, which begins from the town of Graskop.
