Bartolomeus Klip is situated at the foot of the Elandskloof Mountains, surrounded by the Cape Winelands and overlooking a dam, Bartholomeus Klip is a restored Victorian homestead offering luxury and homeliness.
The large private estate on which this homestead is located is both a working sheep and wheat farm and an indigenous fynbos nature reserve. Rose-filled gardens and ancient oaks surround the house, and the deck of the saltwater swimming pool is an ideal spot for sunbathing.
Bartholomeus Klip offers a variety of exciting activities such as walking, hiking, mountain biking, windsurfing, bird watching, boating and game drives. There are more than 1000 heads of game to see, including eland, springbok, jackal and leopard, as well as various bird species. The estate is also a declared natural heritage site and is one of the last major habitats of the rare geometric tortoise.
The homestead is a great base from which to explore the surrounding district. The local country towns of Wellington, Tulbagh and Riebeek Kasteel are only half an hour away from Bartholomeus Klip by car.
