Thanda Private Game Reserve is a celebration of the Zulu people and their rich culture. Thanda means 'love' in Zulu and Thanda's vision is to create harmony between man and nature. The land has been rehabilitated and the animals that once roamed here have been reintroduced.

There are 2 lodges, both offering different experiences. The main lodge is built in a Zulu-inspired style and boasts a wellness centre that rates alongside the very best in the country. The tented camp is situated on the slope of a hill with spectacular views of the reserve. This electricity-free camp offers an authentic bush experience.

Activities include game drives, bush walks, boat trips on the St. Lucia estuary, diving, fishing, horse riding on the beaches and whale watching.

Thanda Private Game Reserve takes food very seriously and the menus are as varied as the choice of settings for each meal. Dine in the main boma, the dining room or even enjoy candlelit dinners served at your private boma.

Main Lodge: the 9 luxury bush villas are pure indulgence. Of these 9 twins, 3 can be converted to doubles.

Each spacious villa has a private splash pool and viewing deck, a sala, a lounge with a fireplace and a huge bathroom with an inside and outside shower. Your private boma offers you absolute privacy should you choose to dine there.

Tented Camp: without compromising luxury or service, the tented camp offers you the opportunity to get closer to nature in style. Each of the 4 luxury tents - 2 twins and 2 doubles - has a viewing deck and a spacious bathroom with a shower.
