4 kilometres from Keimoes is a hilltop lookout, which reveals a splendid view of the irrigated Orange River banks. The river often separates into several streams, creating series of central islands, the largest of which is not far from Keimoes. The islands are farmed, producing good crops of fruit, lucerne and wheat.
