Kenton on Sea has a temperate climate and large stretches of beach. Along the shore is an historic 'Dias Cross', erected five centuries ago by Bartholomeu Diaz, the first Portuguese ocean explorer to sail along the eastern coast of South Africa.

The area has a great variety of flora and birdlife, including some century-old cycads, which are one of the most primitive plants still alive today. There are plenty of rockpools, excellent swimming, water sports and fishing. With easy access to all the scenic wonders the Eastern Cape has to offer, Kenton on Sea is great holiday town.
