The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park covers almost a 3rd of the Kalahari, and forms what may be the largest sandveld area in the world. The term Kalahari was derived from the Kgalagadi word for 'the land which dried up'.

Twee Rivieren is the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park's largest rest camp and administrative headquarters, situated on the banks of the Dry Nossob Riverbed. Animal and plant life found both within the camp, and in the surrounding areas, are particularly diverse.

You can participate in lectures, slide shows and holiday programs organized from the information centre, night drives and day walks when available (min. 2 persons / max. 20 persons) and 4x4 trails.

Facilities include a reception area, convenience store, small fuel station, à la carte restaurant, information centre, swimming pool and communal ablution facilities for day visitors. This is the only camp with 24-hour electricity and cell phone reception. Hired cars may be collected at Twee Rivieren provided that an advance booking is made.

Kalahari - Twee Rivieren is situated approximately 250km from Upington in the Kgalagadi Transfontier National Park, in the far Northern Cape, South Africa.

The Twee Rivieren cottages are well equipped for self-catering. A small shop sells commodities that you would find in your local supermarket including fresh meat, milk, cheese, eggs, bread, wine and beer.

Alternatively, the à la carte restaurant serves breakfast and dinner daily.

Twee Rivieren Restcamp offers a range of accommodation options:

Family chalets: 3-, 4- and 6-bed family cottages, with a bathroom with shower, living room, air-conditioner and fully equipped kitchen. A single unit has been adapted for mobility impaired visitors.

Cottages: 2 single beds and a double sleeper couch (suitable for children under 12 only), bathroom with shower, air-conditioner and fully equipped kitchen.
