Family Friendly Accommodation in the Kruger National Park

The Kruger National Park is a great option for a family safari: it's safe, easy to get to, and has excellent facilities for children. But some lodges aren't designed for family accommodation - many won't accept children under 12, and no lodge except Honeyguide will allow children younger than six years old on a game drive.

Fortunately, there are some lodges that cater specifically for family safaris. They offer special facilities and activities for children that allow mom and dad time to themselves too.

Honeyguide is explicitly child-friendly, with a special children's programme and activity centre. Kids can do beadwork, baking, drawing and reading under the supervision of Honeyguide's camp staff. The lodge also offers kids' game drives for children under six years of age.

Elephant Plains Game Lodge - Due to its size, this lodge both specialises in and excels at personalised service. Its location, on the banks of the Manyeleti River in the Sabi Sands, boasts an excellent quantity and diversity of game. Relative to other lodges in the Kruger National Park area, Elephant Plains Lodge is affordable and happily accommodates all members of the family - even the youngest.
