The Kruger National Park area is in South Africa and the currency used is the South African Rand.

Kruger Conservation Fees

The Kruger National Park charges a daily conservation fee as follows:

Standard Conservation Fee (Foreign Visitors): R120 per adult and R60 per child under 12 per day. SADC Nationals: R60 per person per day South African Citizens and Residents: R30 per person per day

Note: WILD card holders do not pay the conservation fee but must show their South Afican identity book and their WILD card.

If you are visiting a private concession within the park, you still need to pay the daily conservation fee. The conservation fees are often not included in accommodation and tour costs, so you need to check this and ensure that you have sufficient money available.

If you are visiting one of the private game reserves, like the Timbavati or Sabi Sand, and not the Kruger National Park proper, no conservation fees are payable.
