Great Sightings - leopard are seen regularly in the region, as are both wild dog and lion.
Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp is situated on the bank of the Matjulu Spruit in the Kruger National Park. On the northern and southern sides the camp is bordered by dry riverbeds and a dam. The camp is set in a rugged mountain environment with some very interesting San rock painting sites in the surrounding hills.
Special care has been taken to preserve the natural vegetation, with walkways interspersed among the large trees and bushveld shrubs. Facilities include a petrol station, swimming pool, visitors centre, restaurant, and a shop where you can buy all your safari essentials including charcoal briquets for a braai (traditional South African barbeque).
Game is plentiful in the region, and some visitors have been lucky enough to see leopard drinking at the dam in front of the camp. Activities at Berg-en-Dal include game drives and bush walks. There are also a number of interesting hiking trails including the camp trail, the first section of which is wheelchair friendly and part of which also caters for the visually impaired with Braille boards.
