The Outpost is set in the most remote part of Kruger National Park.
The area has a rich wildlife and diverse terrain, ranging from fever tree forests to age old Baobabs. Elephant and buffalo herds are common in the area, as well as predators such as leopard and lion. Rhino have also been recently reintroduced into the area.
The lodge is built with a contemporary and tasteful design, with the main building connected to 12 stand-alone living spaces along a Zimbabwean teak walkway. A modern bar is the focal point of the main area, leading out onto a deck with a swimming pool.
There are a number of activities offered at The Outpost, allowing you to explore the area's wildlife and learn about the local history. Game drives with an experienced guide are offered in the early morning and late afternoon, and guided walks will give you the opportunity to explore regions where the vehicles cannot go.
You can visit the Thulamela archeological site, containing an array of historic artifacts.
