Perfect for families who seek privacy and want space for their kids to run, the gracious Uplands Homestead, which is a sensitively restored 1905 farmhouse, has a lovely bush-country feel and is fenced in.

With beautiful views, a lovely garden, a large swimming pool and a gazebo, the relaxing homestead is situated not far from Kwandwe Main Lodge in a tranquil valley. The styling combines modern touches with 1820 Settler décor and classic architecture.

Kwandwe Private Game Reserve lies in the heart of South Africa's malaria-free Eastern Cape near Grahamstown, and is a natural conclusion to a journey along the world-famous Garden Route.

A victory for far-sighted conservation, 20 000 hectares (49 000 acres) of farmland in the Great Fish River region were restored and restocked with African wildlife. Today, thousands of animals including lion, black and white rhino, buffalo and elephant roam this diverse and fascinating reserve.

Uplands Homestead is located in Kwandwe Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape along a 30km stretch of the Great Fish River.
