Marks Camp is situated in Lalibela Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape. The chalets and main lodge are decorated in a relaxed Pan-African style; the secluded thatched chalets are situated where indigenous gardens merge with the surrounding bush.
Between game drives, you can relax in the large lounge of this well-maintained lodge, bird watch from the viewing decks or laze around the swimming pool.
Since opening, Lalibela Game Reserve has become aware that there is a huge demand for families wanting a safari holiday in a malaria-free area. Lalibela's location makes it ideal for adults travelling with children who would like to combine a family safari with the Garden Route and Cape Town. Over the last 12 months this reserve has looked at various programmes catering for families and has come up with a children's programme which they feel optimizes the safari experience with quality family time.
Day and night game drives in an open vehicle with an experienced game ranger bring you face to face with a multitude of game species that have made Lalibela's 7,500 hectares of valley, bushveld, savannah grassland, fynbos, riverine forest and acacia woodland, their home.
There are no public roads running through the property and all the animals, including the predators, roam freely throughout the entire reserve. In July 2006 another herd of elephant were introduced, and in January 2006 the highly endangered African wild dog, which had previously been held in a holding boma, were reintroduced into Lalibela Game Reserve.
LocationMark's Camp is situated in Lalibela Game Reserve on the N2 between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown, in the Eastern Cape.
