Take the scenic route to Hermanus, following the coast the whole way. You have a good chance of seeing whales along the way (seasonal), and be inspired by the views. You stop for lunch at a restaurant and have time for a relaxing stroll along one of the long white beaches at Betty's Bay.

The closest beaches are only 45 minutes away and when the weather forecast for the coast does not look promising, there are more than enough activities, adventures and attractions in the area to keep you entertained. Visit the Cango Caves, a natural cave engraved into the heart of the Swartberg Mountains and embellished by the beauty of the stalagmite and stalactite rock formations, or ride an ostrich at one of the famous farms in the area.
