Take the scenic route to Hermanus, following the coast the whole way. You have a good chance of seeing whales along the way (seasonal), and be inspired by the views. You stop for lunch at a restaurant and have time for a relaxing stroll along one of the long white beaches at Betty's Bay.

Birkenhead House is located in Hermanus, a sleepy coastal town built along the shores of Walker Bay near the southern most tip of Africa in the Western Cape.
