Midmar Nature Reserve

Midmar Nature Reserve is situated only a few miles from Howick. Like most of KwaZulu Natal, the reserve's climate is warm and tropical.

Midmar Nature Reserve has fully-equipped thatched wooden chalets that provide comfortable accommodation in two separate areas overlooking the dam, both of which have magnificent views.

The reserve contains rare red hartebeest, black wildebeest, blesbok, springbok, reedbuck, oribi and zebra, grazing on the lush grassland that covers the area.

The activities around Midmar are wide and varied, including tennis and swimming in the pool and dam. There is also cycling, windsurfing, canoeing and yachting and excellent freshwater fishing with carp, bass, scalies and bluegill to be caught.
