Napier is a thriving little town that is often referred to as the "village with the old world charm”. This is probably because of the Dutch Reformed Church that stands prominently in the centre of town and the cottages with the colourful gardens, all set against the backdrop of rolling rural countryside.
With a scattering of well-patronised farm stalls, coffee shops, restaurants and even The Fox Pub, there's no need to go hungry in this quaint town. You can also easily spend some time browsing the shops on the main road, including Rose Boats & Toy Museum, which displays working tin plate steamboats handmade in the old tradition.
Napier has attracted a number of creative types from the city who are looking for a quieter lifestyle and is a popular weekend getaway for Capetonians.
