This picnic spot on the Luvuhu River, is as far north as you can go in the Kruger National Park. The alluvial plains of this area are a result of centuries of flooding by the large rivers and there is less dense vegetation and quite sparse grass.
Few visitors venture up here but those that do might see a variety of antelopes. Browsers like the magnificent horned Kudu nibble only on leaves while grazers such as the little Duiker, eat only grass. Impala on the other hand, are not so fussy and eat both. Leopard and lion are also found here.
