Phinda Rock Lodge lies chiselled into into the rock face overlooking the impressive Leopard Rock in the beautiful Phinda Resource Reserve.
The lodge is designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment, with rough sandstone and adobe walls, and ochre roofs clinging to the rock face. The chalets are made of stone and wood, keeping to the natural theme.
Savannah grasslands and the majestic Lebombo Mountains can be seen clearly from the central areas. An open fireplace in the lounge draws winter guests. Fiery sunsets are captured on the west-facing outside deck, which is suspended over the bushveld. You can also visit the curio shop at Mountain Lodge.
There is an abundance of general game and prolific bird life in this reserve, with plenty of opportunitys to spot lion, elephant, cheetah, leopard, rhino and hippo on game drives and walks.
You can also enjoy birdwatching from boat cruises, and engage in other water activities such as snorkelling, canoeing and diving off the Maputoland coastline.
