Pakamisa Lodge is positioned in the spectacular mountainous region of northern Zululand, in its own private game reserve. The lodge is located on the high plateau of the the Pakamisa Mountain, affording uninterrupted views of the surrounding area.
Pakamisa Lodge is home to Arabian horses, originally born and bred in Andalusia, Spain, by Isabella von Stepski, renowned internationally as an Arabian expert. Isabella transported her entire stud farm from Spain to this special corner of Africa where these prized horses are thriving. All horses are worked under saddle, and the proud breeder is only too happy to arrange riding excursions for guests with equestrian interest.
The main house has an eclectic mix of African and European art and antiques, a fireplace in the spacious living room, an extensive library, an intimate bar and a pool terrace with a rock pool.
You can enjoy Tiger fishing in the nearby Jozini Dam, a champagne picnic in the African bush, game drives, guided walks in the bush, bird watching, horseback safaris, and even clay pigeon shooting.
Game viewing is great in the area, with common sightings of leopard, giraffe and zebra, as well as many other mammals, predators and reptiles. The area is also home to an abundant birdlife, making the area a birder's paradise.

DiningEnjoy European cuisine at the elegant El Prado Restaurant, where a sumptuous breakfast, light lunch, afternoon tea, sundowners and romantic al fresco dinner on the verandah is served. There is also a gala dinner with concert entertainment and drinks from the cellar.
Accommodation is limited to a maximum of 16 guests. Pakamisa Lodge has 8 spacious suites, offering comfort and relaxation. Each suite comprises a bedroom, lounge, deluxe-bathroom (bath, shower, two basins & separate toilet), wardrobe and own verandah.
Each suite has been individually styled after an African animal, a theme picked up in valuable paintings and local artifacts.
