Originally built in the 1920's, White Elephant Game Lodge captures the history and romance of the 'colonial era'. The sweeping views and tranquil setting provide the venue for a unique African experience.

The Pongola Game Reserve was first proclaimed in 1894 and is the second oldest reserve in the world. It is a sanctuary to a large variety of wildlife, including giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, impala, hyena, buffalo, rhino and leopard. Birdlife is prolific due to the diversity of habitats, with over 350 species recorded.

Journey into the bush on a game drive or a bush walk with one of the lodge's professional guides, or go on a cycling safari on dusty African roads in the late afternoon sun. You could also enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Jozini , where you could try your luck at Tiger fishing with the help of the fishing guide.

To gain some insight into the local culture, visit the Dumazulu Cultural Village, rural schools or go on an Umgano or Uthambothi tour. You can also visit the zulu chiefs or herbal doctors.
