The Buffalo River offers excellent fishing, while the diverse birdlife is abundant. Zebra, giraffe and a variety of antelope have recently been reintroduced.

Other battlefields are within easy reach of Fugitives' Drift, for example, the Memorial of the Prince Imperial is close by, as is the Talana Museum. The Rourke's Drift Arts and Crafts Centre offers unique items and could be well worth a visit.
