Standing on a well-wooded bank of the Sand River in the Sabi Sand Private Reserve, Leadwood Private Game Lodge brings a new dimension to the African safari experience. It blends African culture, rare beauty and style. The lodge is a tactile mixture of bold and contrasting materials - crushed stone, raw cement, dark meranti, rough granite and glass.

With over 200 species of animals, including the Big 5 - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo - close up sightings are the norm in open vehicle game drives. For the slightly more adventurous, walking safaris offer the ultimate wildlife encounters. One of Leadwood Lodge's experienced rangers and trackers will lead you into the African bush where you may have the opportunity to track one of Africa's Big 5. Walks also give you the wonderful opportunity to enjoy the abundant birdlife, fauna and flora, and to explore the fascinating insect life.

Dinners are special, and are served in a number of locations to experience the magic of an African evening. Plated meals are presented in the elegant dining room or the open deck under the magnificent African sky. Alternatively, traditional braais (barbeques) are enjoyed in the security of the boma around a roaring fire.

Leadwood Lodge has 4 newly constructed suites, which are arguably the largest rooms in the Sabi Sand Reserve, and epitomise ultra luxury.

Leadwood's 4 luxurious suites include an en-suite bathroom with both an indoor and outdoor shower, air-conditioning, heating, a mini bar and a telephone. A full range of guest amenities such as shampoo, bath oil and body lotions are included, as are hairdryers, bathrobes and insect repellent. All doors and windows have insect-proof screens.
