Morning departure from Cape Town, over the Hottentot-Holland Mountains and pass into a region of immense beauty. Stop off just outside Hermanus for a tour and wine-tasting.

During whale season (June to December) also stop in Hermanus which boasts fantastic land-based whale-watching. Here you have the option of enjoying an eco-marine or whale-watching boat trip at an additional cost.

After you've had lunch, continue to Swellendam- the third oldest settlement in South Africa. Spend the night at Klippe Rivier Country House and enjoy a delicous dinner at the hotel's restaurant.

After breakfast, depart Swellendam and travel to the lagoon-side town of Knysna, known as the gem of the Garden Route.

Enjoy some time at the Knysna Waterfront Complex before embarking on an excursion to the beautiful Featherbed Nature Reserve located on the western Knysna Head. The trip includes a fery across the lagoon. Once at the reserve you can opt to enjoy a 2.2 km downhill nature trail walk. The scenery on the walk is truly spectacular and well worth it.

After lunch at the reserve, return to the mainland and continue your journey to Plettenberg Bay where you will be staying at Hog Hollow for the next 2 nights.

The next day visit the Knysna Elephant Park, where you will have the amazing opportunity to touch, feed and photograph these wonderful gentle creatures.

After this, travel to the spectacular Tsitsikamma National Park followed by some exploring of 'Millionaire's Playground'- Plettenberg Bay, before returning to the lodge.

Depart Plettenberg Bay in the morning and travel through George via the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn. Visit an ostrich farm for a guided tour and lunch.

Continue to the spectacular Cango Caves, one of the natural wonders of the world. After this visit of discovery, check into Rosenhof Country House for dinner and overnight stay.

Depart from Oudtshoorn in the morning and travel along the beautiful and famous Route 62 to Cape Town.
