Leave from Johannesburg and travel along the Panorama Route, one of South Africa's most scenic drives. Along the way, visit the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window and Bourke's Luck Potholes.

Travel on to the Illkey Game Ranch, a private game park on the outskirts of the Kruger National Park.

The evening is spent camping in the park enjoying your first open-air meal in the African bush. Later your guide will give a full briefing on the tour.

The day begins with an early morning game walk in Illkey Game Ranch before visiting the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.

After a full tour of the Moholoholo facility, you travel to the world famous Kruger National Park for an afternoon game drive, before settling into your camp site at Skukuza Camp.

The following morning is spent in open 4x4 vehicles with specialist Kruger guides. After lunch, an afternoon game drive follows that takes you to your overnight stop.

Kruger National Park is one of Africa's undisputed top safari destinations and offers visitors a classic African safari experience. It is home to an abundant wildlife population, including the Big 5.

An early start sees you crossing the Mozambican border and driving north to the famous Praia Do Tofo, home to the largest whale shark and manta populations in the world.

Arrive late at Bamboozi campsite where you will set up camp, prepare an evening meal and have a full dive briefing for the following morning.

The following 3 days are spent diving the reefs of Tofo. Each morning you depart early for a double dive trip, returning in time for lunch at the beach. The afternoons are free for you to enjoy any one of the optional activities or just relaxing on this truly beautiful beach.

One evening during this stay, you will have the honour of meeting Dr Andrea Marshall and Dr Simon Pierce, who give a talk on the mantas and whale sharks around Tofo.

Head south again, crossing the border into Swaziland and enter the Hlane Royal National Park.

Hlane is Swaziland's largest protected area, and one of the best places in the world for tracking elephant and rhino on foot.

That night, you camp near a waterhole, where you can witness the comings and goings of the animals. You will be entertained around the fire that evening by traditional dancers.

Following an early morning game drive, you depart from Hlane, cross the border back into South Africa and enter iSimangaliso Wetland Park.

You arrive in Sodwana Bay in the late afternoon and check into your bungalow at Triton Dive Lodge. In the evening, you meet your dive guides and have a briefing on the upcoming diving.

The following 2 days are spent diving a selection of Sodwana Bay dive sites.

Sodwana Bay is a fairly remote area, but people come from far and wide to dive the fabulous coral reefs, which are teeming with colourful fish as well as some giants of the sea, such as whale sharks and manta rays.

Leave the wetland scenery en route to the Kwa-Zula Natal Coast. The bustling city of Durban is South Africa's largest port and a popular surf destination. An hour and a half south of Durban is the small beach-side resort of Shelley Beach, launch point for the infamous Protea Banks and your diving destination for the next few days.

Over the next 2 days you have 3 dives on the Protea Banks Reef, where you will hopefully see some of the world's largest marine predators.

Diving both North and South Pinnacles, you have the chance to collect Sand Tiger Shark teeth and explore caves, swim throughs and tunnels.

An optional Tiger and Bull Shark baited dive at Protea Banks is offered during your stay. A full safety briefing and training session is included before this breathtaking experience.

During your time at Protea Banks, you will recieve the second of your conservation talks; the protection of sharks along the Kwa-Zulu Natal Coast.

The following 2 days are spent diving the equally famous Aliwal Shoal coral reef. Renowned for Raggie Tooth Sharks congregating in their hundreds, dolphins and the baited shark dive.

Over the 2 days you do 3 recreational dives on the Aliwal Shoal, including the famous 'Raggie Cave'. The optional baited shark dive is well worth it, with Oceanic Black-Tip Sharks gathering in large numbers and Tiger Sharks investigating the bait.

This morning you will travel to Durban airport and fly south to Cape Town. You will be met by a Nomad truck that will transport you 2 hours north to Hermanus, home to the best land-based whale-watching in the world.

A cliff path, stretching from one side of the town to the other, hugs the coastline for about 12km and gives whale-watchers unlimited opportunities to study these gentle giants in beautiful Walker Bay. There is also boat-based whale-watching on offer to get you even closer to the whales. Hermanus also hosts the famous Whale Festival that takes place in September, when the little town almost overflows with visitors.

These 2 days in Gansbaai will be spent with optional Great White Cage Diving. During this stay we have our final conservation talk regarding the threats to the Great White and the work being done to protect them.

If you are lucky and encounter Great Whites on your first day, you may like to experience the kayak trip into the whale sanctuary and visit the permanent seal colony along the coast of Hermanus.

A leisurley start in the morning and a short drive will take you back to Cape Town and the end of your exciting South African dive safari.
