Papyrus Lodge is set on 12 hectares of private land with a beautiful garden and its own lake. The lodge is situated on the famous wine route between Somerset West and Stellenbosch.

There is a host of activities to choose from. You can cool down in the fresh-water lake, try a spot of fishing, row out onto the water or enjoy a ride on a pedal boat, experience the birdlife, or simply relax on your private wooden jetty and listen to the lapping waters.

Papyrus Lodge has been nominated for "Resort of the Year" Awards several times over the past years. The resort combines unspoilt nature and the South African lifestyle with Swiss hospitality.

Papyrus Lodge and Cottages are located near Stellenbosch, in the heart of the Cape Winelands.

Breakfasts are served on the garden terrace overlooking the garden and the lake or in the sunny Papyrus Lodge breakfast room.

The chalets and suites are all equipped with a small kitchenette where you can prepare light meals.

If you feel like eating out, there is a restaurant adjacent to Papyrus Cottages and many more in the area.

Choose between 2 types of accommodation, both with views over vineyards and the Helderberg mountains.

Papyrus Lodge Luxury Chalets: The romantic wooden chalets are built on stilts in the water, connected by a small bridge to the land. Each en-suite chalet sleeps 2 people and is equipped with an open-plan kitchenette.

Papyrus Lodge Superior Suites: The Cape colonial-style manor, built on the land, houses 4 spacious suites each with own entrance, private covered veranda and fully-equipped kitchenette. Family suites are available to accommodate 1 or 2 children sharing with the parents.
