Pilansberg

Neighbouring Sun City is the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Located in the crater of a long extinct and eroded volcano, thought to have been formed 1,200 million years ago, the Pilanesberg offers spectacular landscapes and is a hotspot for wildlife viewing.

With an incredible diversity of game you will enjoy action-packed game drives morning and night. The Pilansberg is also a malaria-free safari destination making it perfectly safe for kids.

Guests at Sun City can arrange to visit the Pilanesberg on a day trip, but spending a few nights in this hidden safari gem is well worthwhile.

The Pilansberg is also one of the few reserves in South Africa that has absolutely perfect conditions for balloon safaris. Balloon safaris last about four hours and include a game drive in and out of the park, champagne on landing, and a full English breakfast.
