Mother Nature herself had a hand in the setting out Shumbalala Game Lodge. Relax on Shumbalala's deck, which overlooks the seasonal riverbed, and waterhole frequented by game.

The deck is comfortably decorated in a luxurious African theme. In addition to the game viewing decks and swimming pool, there are 2 lounges, a curio shop and a library in which to relax between game drives.

Shumbalala Lodge is located in the Thornybush Private Game Reserve, adjacent to the Greater Kruger National Park, a 5hr scenic drive from Johannesburg.

Shumbalala Game Lodge offers sumptuous cuisine prepared by a trained chef.

Meals are served either on the lodge decks or by candlelight in more formal surroundings in the main dining room (accompanied by a crackling fire in winter). Open-air fireside dinners are also available.

All suites line the banks of the seasonal Monwana riverbed and are nestled under magnificent trees.

Shumbalala Lodge's luxurious suites have overhead fans, air-conditioning and open fireplaces; designer 'picture window' bathroom suites include an additional outside shower for the more adventurous, and a private viewing deck. One suite provides accessibility to guests in wheelchairs. For families, the Presidential Suite is ideal with a covered private plunge pool, large deck, and private boma area.
