Classic Camp - retro pieces from the 50s, 60s and 70s complete this camp's classic style.
Ngala Tented Safari Camp is set on the banks of the seasonal Timbavati River close to Orpen Gate, one of the major gateways into the world-famous Kruger National Park.
This lavish new accommodation acts as a satellite camp to Ngala Game Lodge, about a 45min drive away, and was built with minimal impact on the environment.
Renowned for its exceptional Big 5 game viewing, Ngala offers twice-daily game drives in 4x4 safari vehicles and interactive bush walks. The camp's guest areas overlook the Timbavati riverbed which draws wildlife to its tree-lined banks.
Surrounded by a timber deck, the pool is a peaceful place to relax and escape the heat of the day. In the evening you can sit on the viewing deck above the Timbavati riverbed and enjoy a few drinks with fellow guests.
In the cool winter evenings, the open fireplaces are a cosy gathering place.
Location
Ngala Tented Safari Camp is situated on the banks of the Timbavati River, on 14 880 hectares of exclusive game-rich land in the Kruger National Park.
Ngala offers Pan-African cuisine which is a blend of traditional and ethnic African recipes and cooking methods, presented with a modern and characteristic flavour.
Spices and aromas for which Africa is famous, such as genuine vanilla, saffron, coriander and cumin, delicately complement each dish, from the vegetable soups and fire-roasted meats to the homemade ice creams.
Private lunch platters can be enjoyed on the viewing decks or at the poolside. While moonlit bush dinners under the African night sky make for memorable dining experiences.
Ngala Safari Camp has 6 luxurious tented suites on raised platforms with secluded wooden decks. Each spacious tent has an en-suite bathroom with a bath, as well as an invigorating outdoor shower with mist nozzles.
You can lie back and enjoy the extra-length beds and on winter nights snuggle up in the warm electric blankets. The tents feature wooden sides with gauze screen windows, so in summer you can keep cool with bushveld breezes or the quiet overhead fan.
