Although there's a common misconception that the southern tip of Africa and the meeting place of the two oceans is at Cape Point on the Cape Peninsula, this is incorrect.
In fact, to stand at the very tip of the African continent and bathe each of your feet in a different ocean, you need to travel to the desolate strip of coastline at Cape Agulhas, less than two hours drive from Cape Town.
Walk along the rocky, windswept coast to the simple plaque that marks the southern tip of Africa and stare out towards Antarctica before warming up in the cosy lighthouse tearoom.
