Wine Tasting on the Whale Coast & Overberg

Modern wine estates producing excellent new world wines line the road through the Hemel and Aarde (Heaven and Earth) Valley that leads into Hermanus. Here you can enjoy delicious wine while soaking up the delectable views of the country and coastline.

The cool coastal breezes of this southern region produce an amazing variety of crisp white wines and smooth reds. The wine estates in the area produce excellent sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, chardonnay, shiraz and pinotage.

Although not traditionally a wine-making area, there are a number of wine estates scattered throughout the Overberg region and these are increasing regularly. Stop off for some wine-tasting at the local estates and you're sure to get a warm and enthusiastic welcome.
