Garden Lodge is located in the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. The individual suites are hidden within a large garden, giving the lodge its name. The lodge was built using local sandstone and sustainable timber, and capped off with a thick thatched roof, giving it a warm and welcoming feeling.

Grootbos is very happy to have families with young children as guests and caters to the needs of your entire family. Adults can go on nature walks and drives, or ride a horse around the reserve. Perhaps take a day trip down to the beach for a chance to see whales, between June and November.

Garden Lodge takes very good care of children, providing more than just a babysitting service. Children's activities combine learning with fun. Specialised guides accompany children on activities like treasure hunts and shell-collecting trips to the beach.

Grootbos is home to the Green Futures programme that teaches locals the art of landscaping with fynbos and the importance of conservation. The non-profit organisation not only helps in the conservation of fynbos, but also provides people with the skills to support themselves.
