Easy to find in Swaziland are the superior casino-hotels that largely cater for South African tourists. While these are usually set in magnificent surroundings and offer luxurious accommodation, they can be busy and pricey.

If you would prefer a quieter stay then there are many private country lodges that offer accommodation of an excellent standard and are good value for money. Some towns have smaller hotels, but they're not always up to scratch.

The Swazi national parks offer self-catering accommodation as well as camping. There aren't many campsites available outside the parks although it's generally safe to pitch a tent in the bush. A good idea is to introduce yourself to the headman of the local community first and to ask his permission to set up camp there.
