Phophonyane Falls Lodge is tucked away in its own nature reserve in Swaziland's Ezulwini Valley near the Phophonyane Falls, a place of legendary romance and natural surroundings.
The lodge is situated high in the mountains with the rugged Gobolondlo and Makhonjwa ranges as a backdrop, while the Phophonyane River runs through the reserve in a series of cascading waterfalls. Keep an eye out for otter, duiker and bushbuck, as well as up to 230 bird species.
The walking trail network takes you through the riverine forest; the viewpoints command beautiful views of the majestic Makhonjwa and Gobolondlo Mountain ranges and the Ntfonjeni Valley.
Explore this scenic area on 4x4 drives, visits to the Nsangwini Bushmen paintings, or simply relax and read a book in the Phophonyane Falls Lodge library.
Location
Phophonyane Falls Lodge is situated in the Ezulwini Valley in the north-west of Swaziland, 14km north of Pigg's Peak.

Although most of the accommodation is self-catering, there is an à la carte restaurant which offers a variety of home cooked meals including vegetarian dishes.
You could also enjoy a sundowner on the restaurant veranda overlooking the valley. For those chilly wintry nights one can enjoy a romantic evening in front of a log fire.
Phophonyane Falls Lodge offers self-catering, fully furnished cottages and safari tents in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity.
There are 2 double storey cottages that sleep a maximum of 5 people, and have their own private garden and braai (barbecue) facilities.
The guest suite cottage is a cosy 1-bedroom cottage with a large garden and braai (barbecue) facilities, perfect for honeymooners.
The luxury A-frame cottage sleeps a maximum of 5 people in 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. It has a spacious lounge, fireplace and a large private garden.
There are two safari tents near the river and accommodate 3 people. They share a stone and thatch fully-equipped kitchen, a lounge area and a balcony.
Three other safari tents are available and are set on stilts with their own private balcony. There is no kitchen, but there are braai facilities available.
