South Africans used to flock to Piggs Peak for weekend gambling sessions but there are now closer places for the Johannesburgers to go. This small town in the north-western corner of Swaziland, is full of pine plantations for its busy logging industry.
The area is known for the quality of its handicrafts. It is very attractive with Phophonyane Waterfalls close by, and rolling hills dotted with clusters of thatched mud and daub cottages. Rural Swazi life is little more than subsistence level, but "Africa Time" means that nothing is done in a hurry, and perhaps because of this, the people are very friendly.
