Swaziland » Places of interest » Nhlangano

The air is clear and cooler at Nhlangano than in some parts of Swaziland. It is an agricultural and timber area not much frequented by visitors.

Nhlangano means 'meeting place' and it was here that King Sobhuza II of Swaziland met King George VI of England in 1947 when Swaziland was still a British protectorate. Independence was achieved in 1968. The town has some good places to stay; the Phoenix and the upmarket Nhlangano Sun among them.

Nhlangano is also a good place to change money - otherwise there's not much reason to visit, unless you're using the town as a base from which to explore the region.
