Mountain Village Arusha is in the heart of a coffee plantation, near Arusha, the gateway town to Tanzania's national parks and reserves.

The rondavels overlooking Lake Duluti are styled upon an African village, surrounded by gardens with water features, indigenous flowers and a collection of beautiful bougainvillaea.

Mountain Village Arusha offers a number of great activities that explore the surrounding area, including lake shore walks to see the Colobus monkeys, forest antelope and abundant bush life; nature trails through neighbouring coffee plantations, with picnic stops and 'coffee tasting', mountain biking and canoeing, as well as trips to the craters, lakes, forests and peaks of nearby Arusha National Park.

The main lodge is in an old coffee planter's farm house, which has been tastefully adapted. When you're not exploring the area you can relax on the roof terrace and take in the panoramic views of Mt Kilimanjaro, Lake Duluti and Mt Meru, or pamper yourself with luxurious beauty treatments or a toning massage.

Fountain Restaurant is located in the Old Colonial Farmhouse. The restaurant overlooks the lake and has a relaxed candlelit atmosphere.

The chef uses organically grown fresh produce to create a variety of dishes including traditional safari favourites, as well as internationally themed menus.

You can also enjoy sundowners on wooded cliffs above the lake. Sip a refreshing drink as you watch flocks of white egret come home to roost.

Mountain Village Arusha has 46 guest rooms (36 twins and 6 superior rooms) housed in traditional 'rondavel' circular dwellings. The banana stem thatched rondavels are grouped in semi-circles around tropical shade trees and open onto a central, flowered courtyard.

Each rondavel has a private balcony on which to relax and enjoy the spectacular mountain and lake views.

The rooms are en suite and have been furnished with net-draped beds, soft lamps and intricately carved furniture.
