From January to May, turtles hatch in nests adjacent to Ras Kutani, and the coastal forest, amongst one of the most biodiverse on earth, is home to Colobus, Vervet and Sykes Monkey, as well as baboons, wild pigs and the elusive Civet Cats. Bird watchers would also be delighted by the fine birding this island has to offer.

DiningThe chefs at Ras Kutani pride themselves on preparing the fresh 'fruit of the ocean' fare from the readily available local fish, as well as Pan-African cuisine.
Ras Kutani has 9 spacious and charming cottages, each individually handcrafted using local, natural materials.
They are situated beneath the cooling canopy of indigenous trees and offer ocean and lagoon views.
Ras Kutani also has 4 large suites, known as the Upepo Collection. These suites are situated high on the hills with great views and private plunge pools. Each suite has an 8-feet wide double bed with bedside tables, ambient 240v lighting, en-suite bathroom, large dressing area and a large front veranda with Swahili daybeds and hammocks.
