Ras Kutani

Ras Kutani is an idyllic beach getaway located on the tranquil Indian Ocean.

  • Inviting - long stretches of pristine beach and warm, blue seas awaits you.

  • Look Out Onto Paradise - guest areas are a soaring thatched structure with superb views of the beach, lagoon and the ocean.

  • Island Activities - relax with a massage, or try body boarding, surfing, snorkelling, kayaking, nature walks through the indigenous coastal forest or along the shore or guided walks to the local inland or fishing village along the coast.

Home to a scattered, well-appointed cluster of bandas, Ras Kutani offers romantic hideaways and total relaxation after the excitement of a bush safari.

Guest areas are a soaring thatched structure with superb views of the beach, lagoon and the ocean, and if you need to relax more, you can go for a massage.

For the more active, Ras Kutani offers body boarding, surfing, snorkelling and kayaking on the lagoon. You could also go on nature walks through the indigenous coastal forest or along the shore, or, alternatively, go on guided walks to the local inland or fishing village along the coast.

There will be no absence of wildlife in this paradise. From January to May, turtles hatch in nests adjacent to Ras Kutani, and the coastal forest, amongst one of the most biodiverse on earth, is home to Colobus, Vervet and Sykes Monkey, as well as baboons, wild pigs and the elusive Civet Cats. Bird watchers would also be delighted by the fine birding this island has to offer.

Location

Ras Kutani is set on a crescent of a white, sandy beach, flanked by a freshwater lagoon and a coastal forest, approximately 35km south of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
