Situated within the private concession of Sinya in Tanzania, but bordering Kenya's Amboseli National Park is Kambi ya Tembo, a private tented camp enjoying spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Furnished and decorated in an authentic Maasai style, Kambi ya Tembo is an amazing destination for a tailored East African safari, with a beautiful library tent, dining area and 12 secluded canvas tents.

The Sinya concession is known for its amazing game viewing, and particularly for its elephant: Sinya is home to some of the largest elephants in East Africa. Many of the elephant bulls sporting impressive tusks are over the age of 50, and tend to migrate with herds of mothers and calves between Amboseli and the acacia woodlands on the other side of the border.

The area is also the home of around 2000 Maasai people, who live peacefully in the reserve in traditional bomas. When enjoying a safari at Kambi ya Tembo, you can also enjoy walking safaris escorted by some of the local Maasai warriors.

Kambi ya Tembo is situated in the private Sinya concession in Tanzania and borders Amboseli National Park.

At Kambi ya Tembo, guests can enjoy relaxed and cosy dining, with meals served indoors in the tented dining room, or outdoors around the fire.

Enjoy a hearty full English breakfast in the mornings, served with freshly baked bread and eggs to order, before heading out on your morning game activity.

Lunch is served in the early afternoon, with snacks to follow before the evening drive. On return, you'll enjoy a delicious meal around the fire or in the dining room, complimented with local wines.

Picnics can be arranged for those who wish to enjoy a lunch out in the reserve.

Kambi ya Tembo has just 12 canvas tents, ensuring your privacy and comfort. 4 of the tents have a king-size bed, and 8 are fitted with twin-beds. The tents are all connected with walkways.

Each of the tents are wonderfully spacious and have their own private bathroom with built-in showers. You can enjoy a hot cup of coffee in the mornings on your private veranda while admiring the spectacular views across Amboseli towards Mount Kilimanjaro.
