Kinasi Lodge uses a mixture of cultural design elements creating a unique environment. The furniture is antique and restored to keep this part of Mafia's heritage on the island.

The lodge remains largely untouched by the bustling ports and towns of Zanzibar and is mainly reliant on natural resources. You will experience what it is like to live on a barely populated tropical island.

Mafia Island is a great scuba diving destination and Kinasi Lodge has trained diving instructors to help you experience this tropical wonderland. You can swim with an array of marine life in this diverse environment.

In the unlikely event that you do not want to experience the abundant sea life you can visit the wellness centre. Here you can enjoy a relaxing massage, aromatherapy and hydrotherapy.

The food at Kinasi is mainly based on local seafood. 3 meals are served per day consisting of an English breakfast, a buffet lunch and a themed dinner.

Kinasi Lodge has room for 28 guests at one time. There are 10 cottages with large single beds and 8 with very large double beds.

There is also a family bungalow that has two rooms sharing a bathroom, and a suite with an upstairs bedroom.
