Ngorongoro Crater: Money

The Tanzanian Shilling is the local currency in these parts although as with most places in Africa the mighty US dollar gets you far (the hefty park fees are quoted in US dollars in most travel guides).

Most lodges in Ngorongoro Crater accept well-known credit cards but don't forget some small denomination US dollar bills for staff tips.
