Bird Spotting - over 450 different species of bird make this an ornithology enthusiast's paradise.
Changing Landscapes - from open plains to thick inhospitable bush, tranquil river settings to acacia woodlands, the scenery and wildlife are fascinating and diverse.
Secret Safari - although the 2nd largest in Tanzania, the reserve is perhaps the least well-known, however, with its dramatic scenery and diverse wildlife it is arguably one of the most spectacular in Africa.
Jongomero Tented Safari Camp is set on the banks of the seasonal Jongomero River in the remote south western corner of Ruaha - Tanzania's second largest national park. This secluded camp is the only accommodation in a beautiful landscape characterised by rocky outcrops, mountain ranges and the Great Ruaha River.
Daily activities include game drives in open 4-wheel drive vehicles, all day drives with bush picnics, excellent birding and sipping sundowners while watching the hippos. Large elephant herds, wild dog, sable, both greater and lesser kudu, a plentiful predator population and more than 450 species of birds make Ruaha National Park a naturalist's paradise. Do note though that walking safaris are not available at present.
The comfortable dining and living areas are set in the shade of an African ebony tree and, on hot days, the natural rock pool is another great vantage point from which to take in the sights and sounds of the African bush.
