Mwagusi Safari Lodge lies on a bank of the Mwagusi Sand River overlooks a watering hole in the riverbed.

This small, exclusive tented camp offers plenty of opportunity for game drives and walks in the camp's specially adapted, open-sided 4WD vehicles, each with comfortable seats and high shade awning to enable one to stand and still be in the shade whilst game viewing. Each vehicle is equipped with reference books and bean bags for photography, medic-kits and all the necessities for a day in the bush.

Ruaha National Park covers an area of 12,950 sq. km and is Tanzania's second largest National Park. It forms the core of a much larger (45,000 sq. km) ecosystem including Rungwa and Kisigo Game Reserves.

Ruaha represents a transition zone where eastern and southern species of flora and fauna overlap and in all some 1,650 plant species and over 450 bird species have been recorded within the park itself.

Ruaha is also known for its large elephant and buffalo herds and one of its principal attractions lies in being able to see greater and lesser kudu as well as the sable and roan antelope within the same area. As well as an abundance of lion, leopard and cheetah it is also home to the increasingly rare African Hunting Dog.

Mwagusi Safari Lodge is located in the South West area of Tanzania, in Ruaha National Park, Tanzania's second largest National Park.

Mwagusi Safari Lodge has 10 tents that are designed within thatched bandas.

Each has high density mattresses, dressing table, wardrobe, luggage racks, safari chairs and 'en-suite' bathroom with flush loo and hot shower. Solar powered lights as well as a number of traditional hurricane lamps provide lighting.

At the front of each banda is a large covered veranda with a table and armchairs made from local materials.
