Ruaha River Lodge is located on the banks of the Great Ruaha River. This remote lodge is situated in an area that offers a variety of landscapes - from mountains and escarpments to grassland plains, and from rocky kopjes to riverine areas. It comes as no surprise that such a diverse area provides for some diverse wildlife viewing.

The lodge offers a comfortable stay in this otherwise rugged location, with 20 stone and thatch en suite bandas. The dining and bar areas overlook the Great Ruaha River which means that you don't need to interrupt your game viewing while you eat and drink.

Experience this remote area on morning and late afternoon game drives with experienced and knowledgeable guides. For a more intimate experience, why not opt for a walking safari? (Walking safaris are only offered during the dry season: May - November).

Ruaha River Lodge also offers fly-camping excursions which allow you to spend 2 nights camping in the wilderness.

Ruaha River Lodge offers guests a full English breakfast, buffet lunch and a 3-course dinner with a vegetarian option. All food is prepared from fresh farm produce.

The lodge is happy to cater for any special dietary requirements, provided they are informed at the time of booking.

Accommodation at Ruaha River Lodge is in 20 stone and thatched bandas with either twin beds or a double bed. Additional beds can be added.

The en suite bathrooms have a shower, toilet and wash basin with solar-heated hot water. The rooms are protected with mosquito gauze on the windows and a generator provides electricity for lights and battery charging until 11pm each night. There is a complimentary laundry service.
