Money in the Serengeti

For any transaction you'll want to undertake in the Serengeti National Park, you'll need either a credit card or cash (in the form of Tanzanian shillings or US dollars).

Upmarket accommodation establishments and the park gates will readily accept credit cards, while cash is best for less formal transactions (and for tipping park rangers and game drivers, as is customary).
