The Serengeti National Park consists of distinct habitats that in turn attract a different group of animal inhabitants.

The northern parts of the park are hilly and wooded with forests whereas the southeast is covered by plains of long and short grass.

The western corridor is home to extensive woodlands and black clay plains, while the centre of the park contains the acacia woodland and savannah that's so characteristic of Africa.
