Mbalageti is situated in the vast Serengeti National Park, the largest and most famous national park in Tanzania, covering 14.763 sq km and adjoining the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya.
The lodge comprises tented chalets and a central building built from natural materials, all positioned to take advantage of the great views as well as the immediate surroundings.
The central building consists of an elegant bar which is the natural meeting point and heart of the lodge, serving a wide range of local and imported beverages; a cosy lounge loft on the 2nd floor with board games, puzzles, magazines and a selection of books, and a well-stocked curio shop.
Outside, a wooden deck features a swimming pool made of local rocks and set on the edge of the hill with 360 degree views of the Serengeti. A newly built Massage Boma offers massage services and the Tranquillity Pool is a great place to unwind after an activity-packed day.
Exciting game drives are available in 4WD vehicles to explore the Serengeti National Park, or you could set out on a guided nature walk along the banks of the scenic Mbalageti River.
Breakfast, lunch and dinners are served in Mbalageti's restaurant which overlooks the Serengeti. The food fuses the influences of the Serengeti environment and continental cuisine.
A small tea garden off the Welcome Centre serves high tea with a selection of home baked pastries every afternoon.
Mbalageti can also let bush breakfasts and dinners be laid out for groups of 4 - 6 people, or for larger groups by prior arrangement. These take place on the banks of the Mbalageti River or under a large Acacia tree respectively and offer sumptuous fresh meals.
Drinks and snacks can be served away from the camp while you watch the sun set over the Serengeti.
The well-stocked bar is the central meeting point and heart of the lodge with a wide range of both local and imported products available.
The Standard rooms are ideal for budget travellers. All have en-suite bathrooms and a small veranda, and are tastefully decorated for comfort and relaxation.
24 Tented chalets are designed for a true luxury safari experience. The tents are structured out of local rock and timber and fitted with canvas. All have an en-suite bathroom with all the luxury amenities, and a private veranda with cooling thatch roofs.
The Exclusive suites offer a little extra of everything, such as an outdoor bathtub, 2 spacious en-suite bedrooms and a lounge veranda.
